Research and Citations
Welcome to the page on research and citations. Many of you have asked how to properly cite information from this page in your papers and research projects. Please refer to the below list for citation styles and contextual information about this site.
Citation Styles
Online sources are sometimes difficult to cite. Changing URLs, content and vague ownership all conspire to make the researcher's task that much
more difficult. As a minimum, all citations should contain the following information:
We suggest the following citation style for this site in general: The President Reagan Information Page. August, 1993-present. Brett Kottmann. 2010-09-02. <http://wwww.presidentreagan.info/>. We suggest the following citation style for a specific page in the site:The President Reagan Information Page: Income for Males. August, 1993-present. Brett Kottmann. 2010-09-02. <http://wwww.presidentreagan.info/income_for_males.cfm>. If you use a specific style, we suggest following the examples below for MLA or Chicago style. However, you should always follow any specific examples cited by your instructor(s) unless you get prior permission. Whatever style you use, be consistent. Do not switch styles within your paper! There are many online sources with other examples of citing online references if you need a few more suggestions. A search for "online citation method" will return a number of examples. MLA Style
