Kyoto: why do it's supporters have to blackmail Russia into signing it?
The answer is obvious: Kyoto is junk science and the treaty obligations it brings with it are one-sided and
will not do a thing to address what is referred to as "global warming".
"Global Warming" is junk science
There has not been one single computer model that has been able to accurately
predict even a short-term future scenario (accurately) based on known historical data. Not one.
Indeed, the fact that this summer was cooler than expected
has stumped all of the global warming "experts":
It's been a disappointing summer for global warming alarmists.
Hollywood, Mother Nature and the media just haven't cooperated. Even with the unusual
situation of two successive hurricanes pounding Florida and another bearing down
imminently, global warming hysteria seems to be on ice for now.
The summer began with so much promise for the climate control crowd with the
release of the global warming disaster movie, "The Day After Tomorrow." While the
movie made plenty of money, global warming activists wanted much more than that. They
hoped the movie would foment global warming hysteria in the same way that
"The China Syndrome" and "Silkwood" contributed to public sentiment against nuclear power plants.
Instead, the movie was so over-the-top with implausible weather phenomena that no one—not
even the usually global warming-sympathetic media — took it seriously. Then, unlike the
movie, the real "day after tomorrow" turned out to be pretty nice.
Across the U.S., summer temperatures were cooler than normal. Aberdeen, S.D., experienced its
coolest August in 115 years with an average temperature seven degrees below normal (63.4 vs. 70.5).
The Global Warming Hoaxters have tried to capitalize on the hurricane activity this year,
but even their allies in the liberal media will not cooperate since the evidence simply
isn't there to support such a claim:
The New York Times reported on Sept. 5: "Global warming is not a significant factor in this year's
storminess, experts said. While some climate models predict that warming might eventually mean
somewhat stronger hurricanes, that effect is expected to be very small compared to the natural hurricane cycle."
The Washington Post began a Sept. 3 article with, "Bad luck, not global warming, is the best
explanation for the arrival of two severe hurricanes on the Florida peninsula in three weeks,
several experts said yesterday."

It is bad enough that Global Warming is a hoax perpetrated by the politically motivated,
but the Kyoto treaty is nothing more than a Robin-hood tax on rich, industrialized nations.
The so-called "poor" nations such as
China and India are exempt from the Kyoto restrictions on pollution.
China, of course, is currently sucking up the world's resources and polluting more and more every year.
So how on Earth could it be exempt?! The answer is clear: the goal of Kyoto is not to "stop pollution"
but to allow the so-called poor nations to "catch up" to the industrialized west. As if
that is not bad enough, the "rich" nations will have to pay for any pollution controlling
technology "poor" nations do implement. Talk about rubbing salt into a wound! First you
have to pay the "poor" nations in order continue to grow economically, then you have to pay for t
heir infrastructure upgrades that allow them to compete more efficiently with you!
What the Soviet Union could not do through military and political force (stopping the progress of industrialized
western nations so they could catch up), the Global Warming Hoaxers are trying to do with treaties allegedly about
pollution. Ironically, Russia is now considered part of the industrialized world!
So the industrialized nations who sign up for this lunacy have two choices: stop growing
economically or pay a "tax" on their pollution. Where does that tax go? Why to the "poor"
nations, of course, who not only are allowed to continue to pollute, but get to sell their
"excess pollution output" to the "rich" nations.
Anyone with a brain can see that the Kyoto treaty does nothing to stop overall pollution!
In fact, pollution will continue to increase across the globe. All that will change is that the
"rich" nations will be paying a tax to the "poor" nations.
When peer pressure does not work, try blackmail!
So why is Russia agreeing to it?
Simple: the western nations who have already signed the treaty will not support
Russia's entry into the World Trade Organization unless
it first signs the Kyoto treaty. In addition, under the terms of the treaty, Russia
does not have to reduce its pollution output relative to the other industrialized nations.
The benefits of being in the trade organization thus far outweigh any restrictions in the
Kyoto treaty—if those restrictions are ever enforced against Russia.
