I have to say the mainstream media outlets have pulled out all the stops and are actively pimping for Kerry.
CNN displayed a poll with the column headers ("Kerry" and "Bush") reversed to make it look like
Kerry had a seven point lead. They later "apologized" for the error, but then said that Bush only
had a 2 point lead. (!) What they meant was that the percentage of people favoring President Bush
rose from 52 to 54, but what they left unsaid was that Kerry's numbers had fallen from 49 to 47.
Oh those sneaky liberals! They then went on at great length about how a "2 point" bounce was the
"lowest in history"...yada yada yada. How can people watch this and not suffer adverse effects on their intelligence?
Meanwhile, Kerry's hometown paper, the Boston Globe, has tried to come to Kerry's rescue by
dredging
up old stories about President Bush's National Guard duty. Gee, that's a great way to move the
subject away from Kerry's lies about Vietnam, isn't it? The editors at the Globe need to pardon
the nation while it yawns in response to this "exposé".
The mainstream media is still ignoring the invented
news story from the Associated Press. You can be sure that if this was Fox News inventing stories the
mainstream media would play it 24x7 through election day, and then every hour on the hour after that.
In a major "surprise", the Globe also is pointing to a story about
how foreigners
favor John Kerry. Well, thanks, but we don't need any more reasons to support President Bush, do we?
Below, however, is the reason the story is a "story" at all:
"Kerry would win handily if the people of the world were to elect the US president," concluded Steve Kull,
the director of the nonpartisan Center on Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland, which
organized the polls along with Globescan, a Canadian polling firm.
Liberals, of course, would like nothing better than to open up U.S. elections to "citizens of the world".
Like I said, we don't need any more reasons to vote for President Bush, do we?
The mainstream media is also
giving air time to a story that is physically impossible.
Namely, that Ben Barnes helped get President Bush into the National Guard as a favor to the Bush family.
Not only was Barnes not in a position to influence entry when Bush joined in 1968, Barnes was
not elected Lt. Governor (a post where he might have had influence) until over a year and half
after President Bush entered the Guard. Nor can Barnes provide any evidence of a request from the Bush
family for preferences or contacts at the National Guard who he would have contacted to get President Bush special treatment.
That hasn't stopped the mainstream media from giving this (invented) story major air time!
It's all part of their effort to get John Kerry elected President.
That will teach us mere mortals to defy their liberal agenda, won't it?
